How do I get my songs heard?

One of the most common questions new songwriters ask is “How do I get my songs heard?” We all sort of wish there were a step-by-step process for every aspect of the music industry so that we could see Point A to Point B and gain a structured knowledge for future reference, but in reality there is only one concrete directive the successful writers have adhered to…hard work.

It’s cliché and broad, but that attribute IS what keeps successful songwriters moving forward – never quitting, never swaying whichever way the wind blows, just pushing out consistently well-written lyrics and utilizing social skills with constant networking, and a lot of late-night gigs.

Another new artist on the Nashville Ear

New Artist Scott Marshall has written a great song to honor his father called "I Still Do". Nashville Ear welcomes him to our collection of great songwriters

Come by and listen to this tribute to Fathers everywhere.

Scott is another great unheard of songwriter with many great songs that is not getting the attention his songs deserve.

Go listen to a few of his songs that I thought were good enough to share to all my friends.

Mitch Emmons has been driving from Alabama to Nashville to audition for the Bluebird Cafe.
He is a guy who has a fantastic lady at home waiting for him. Mitch writes songs while he drives and has written a great song for Gloria, his love.
Mitch is the Best of the Best for 2009 and still one of the best songwriters I have ever met.
Take a minute or two and listen to his new song I Miss You.

Willie Nelson pay attention to this song, It was written for you

Larry Evans has written a song especially for Willie Nelson.

Everyone knows Willie plays an old guitar that he has had forever. Where the pick guard should be there is a worn hole from years of playing. This song says all the words and feelings that would explain why you would keep an old guitar like that. Just like an old friend , Willies old guitar is part of him and his craft.

Larry even gave the old guitar that he wrote "This Old Guitar" on to Willie's harp player to give to willie with a copy of the song tucked under the strings and the lyrics written on the back of the guitar and that was the third time he has tried to get the song in Willies hands.

"This Old Guitar" is the best song, in my opinion, that Larry has ever written.

Willie, if you hear about this blog or the Nashville Ear.com songs Play attention to this song.

New song on the Best of the Best of Nashville Ear

Larry Evans has been busy writing songs again, he was nice enough to send me his new song:

"Pull it Back Together" is another good song that Larry has written and performed.
This song is about his woman pulling it back together so they can get back to being happy again. Larry is a great songwriter as this song will prove.
Good Job again Larry, this is why you are one of the Best of the Best on the Nashville Ear.

Go give it a listen, you will like it.
